In Queensland, connection of any fixed 240V wiring is Electrical Contractor work under the Electrical Safety Act 2002 (Qld). A compliance certificate (CCEW) must be issued. 12V DC wiring (circuits L1–L6, VD) may be owner-installed under Queensland exemptions for Extra-Low Voltage (ELV, ≤50V DC) systems. Maintain safe practices: use correctly rated cable, fuses/breakers, proper terminals, and conduit where cables pass through walls or subfloor. Retain as-built drawings. Solar PV panel installation on roof: roof penetrations and panel mounting should be assessed by EC or roofer. PV array itself (12V/24V system) is ELV — owner work permitted. Inverter connection to battery: ELV — owner work permitted. RCD sub-board and any 240V connections from inverter output: LICENSED ONLY. Fly screen vent cap. ★ LICENSING NOTE — PLUMBING & GAS GAS WORK (ALL): All LPG gas pipework, connections, and appliance installation must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter (Type B gas work) in Queensland under the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004. This includes: cylinder connection, copper pipe runs (GAS-1, GAS-2), Joolca connection, stove connection, regulator installation, and final leakage test. A Certificate of Compliance for Gas Work must be issued. Owner is not permitted to perform any gas work. PLUMBING WORK (QLD): In Queensland, plumbing work (water supply, drainage) generally requires a licensed plumber. However, for a non-sewered rural property using an on-site water supply tank (not connected to reticulated water), owner-installer exemptions may apply for some work. Confirm with QBCC (Queensland Building and Construction Commission) before commencing. All plumbing must meet AS/NZS 3500 (Plumbing and Drainage). Greywater disposal must comply with On-site Sewage Facility requirements — confirm with Toowoomba Regional Council for rural zone setbacks and French drain acceptability. LPG STORAGE: LPG cylinder must be in a ventilated cage min 500mm from any window, door, or air inlet. Max 2×45kg cylinders without additional approvals. Cage must be secured and labelled. Refer to AS/NZS 1596 (LPG storage and handling) and AS 3000 for separation distances. GREYWATER: Greywater from sink only (no toilet waste). French drain minimum 3m from cabin, 3m from property boundary, 1.5m from any tree, soil conditions permitting. Dedicated laundry greywater system may be required if washing machine added — refer TRC planning conditions. Plumber (or owner where exempt): connect pump at tank, run internal CW-I 15mm PEX in subfloor to bench sink. Install isolation valve. Commission pump. 3. Licensed gas fitter: install LPG cage, regulator, run copper GAS-1 to stove and GAS-2 to Joolca position. Pressure test. Issue compliance cert. 4. Install Joolca HOTTAP to N wall bracket (gas fitter confirms connection). Run CW-I branch to Joolca inlet. Commission hot water + outdoor shower. 5. GW drainage: install sink trap, 40mm PVC from floor penetration out to French drain (min 1:40 fall, min 3m from cabin). 6. Install composting WC in outhouse. Run vent pipe through roof.
